What Are Accessories?

Accessories can be anything from desk items such as snow flake paperweights to a dress accessory such as a necklaces, brooch or ear rings. They are the essentials that can make a certain difference. Or as the French would say give you that “je ne sais quoi” in other words that indescribable but delicious feeling that somehow you have completed a vital factor in the rich pageant of life. A treasured item that may also give sentimental satisfaction.

An accessory can also be some one who aides and abets in a crime or have an anatomy/medical connotation but neither will intentionally be the subject of this web site. An accessory may also be a an item which enhances or complements a piece of equipment such as a new joystick for a video game or console.

So why a site dedicated to accessories? Simple some ideas gathered together could be used to brighten your life. They need not be expensive and may range from a colourful bangle from a flea market or a cheap set of ear rings that coordinates with the colour of the dress to the other side of the spectrum where an accessory could be an 18ct Gold Bracelet from Tiffanys. A Tom Tom GPS can be an accessoryfor a car. I recently won one; lucky me and finally got to use it. Wow it probably saved me a heavy fine because it warned me of red light and speed cameras ahead. I now do not venture out without it because it also serves its prime purpose of getting me from point A to B with various options built in. Its now an essential accessory for my travels.

My sister sews up hand bags which she sells at the markets – each is unique in its design and women come from every where to buy her bags. A handy and practical accessory that can be used to complement a dress, a chic outfit or the shoes. In fact shoes can be both beautiful or a functional accessory. Built up shoes may be functional while high heels would be beautiful but not terribly functional for walking and future foot problems. Yet high heel shoes are prized accessories in the fashion stakes. Hats are a favourite accessory particularly  for women although hats seem to be creeping back into fashion for men as well.

My manual diary is probably an accessory. I know many would now say that its out dated or out moded. But I have a daily record of my activities and important dates that many now do not have because their hard disk failed. It comes in mock leather grain and complements my desk at work.
